Founded in 2001 as a joint initiative of eleven Swiss grantmaking foundations in Basel, SwissFoundations is today a membership organization of grantmaking foundations for grantmaking foundations. SwissFoundations is an association under Swiss law and is financed to over 80% by contributions and grants from its members.
